Follow these steps to install Aspen on your Windows computer.

Aspen System Requirements This section provides the hardware and software requirements for the Aspen Engineering products. A) Aspen Engineering V10 Hardware Requirements Desktop System Requirements: Computer and Processor: Intel Core-i5 family 2.8 gigahertz (GHz) or faster Memory (RAM): 8 GB Free Hard Disk Space: 80 GB.
- You will need 25GB+ free in order to install this!
- Browse to https://software.wse.jhu.edu/ (Must be on campus or connected to the Hopkin's VPN)
- On the left column select 'By Title'
- Click AspenOne
- Click the AspenOne link to start the download. Save the file if prompted:
- This is a slightly large download at almost 10GB. It may take up to an hour to download depending on your Internet speed.
- While the software is downloading, you should receive the following email with licensing information:
- Once the download has completed, extract the compressed archive. We suggest installing 7zip to do this, however it is not required (https://www.7-zip.org/download.html)
- Extraction will take about 5-10 minutes.
- Feel free to delete the .zip archive after extraction has completed. This will free up space on your local hard disk.
- Open the extracted contents (aspenONE_V10_Nov17_ENG) and run setup.exe.
- Select AspenOne Engineering V10 to start the installation:
- Select Install AspenONE Products:
- Choose Optional Products. The default options should be fine unless instructed otherwise by your professor/colleague.
- Enter license server wse-neoflex.win.ad.jhu.edu:
- Select Next>Install now. This process may take a very long time as AspenOne is made up of MANY individual small files.
- Once the installation is finished Select 'Reboot Now' to complete the installation
- Launch AspenPlus v10:
Lenovo for mac. Getting Access to a valid Aspen Plus & HYSYS license is not easy! It is actually very expensive so the most common ways to get access are the following:
By far the easiest way is to verify if you have access at work. If you are simulating processes, it is most likely that your company is already having access to such software. Commonly, AspenTech will issue certain amount of licenses to the company, so you might ask for one.
Note that if the company does not has any kind of licensing, you should ask for it. It is a great investment on behalf of the company and it will improve their process via software simulation.
Ensure to verify that the software you are using is a LEGAL and AUTHORIZED license for you to use.
Research Centers and Labs will typically have access to AspenTech Software licenses as well.
Ask for your colleages if you need to.
If your Lab or Research Center does not have access, you can try to get a relatively inexpensive license for your specific purposes.

It is pretty convinient for AspenTech to give relatively cheap licenses to the universities so they continue to have the 'monopoly' of the Process Simulation Industry. If only AspenTech Software is available for students, then they will only know how to simulate in these software, therefore, no need to bother with other tools and softwares.
Note that there are many ways in which you can get access:
- Computer Room, software available only via LAN conection
- Virtual Desk in your Laptop, software available only within the University's WireLess Network
- Virtual Desk in your Laptop, software available 100% within internet connection
Whichever way you have access to, you should ensure to finish your work within in the given limits!
Rumor has it that there are ways in which you could get some Trial or special deal depending on your unique case. My recommendation is that you simply send an e-mailasking and see what you can get 🙂
